Southwest Virginia Community College Seeks Automotive Technology Instructor to Enhance Workforce Training
Southwest Virginia Community College (SWCC) is actively seeking a full-time Instructor of Automotive Technology to support a workforce training initiative funded by an ARC POWER Grant. This position is designed to enhance career pathways by providing students with technical skills and industry-recognized credentials necessary for success in the evolving automotive industry. The instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair, both in classroom and hands-on lab environments. The role includes teaching courses within Career Studies Certificate programs, such as Automotive Diagnostics and Repair, Advanced Automotive Technology, and Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Fundamentals. Additionally, the instructor will contribute to curriculum development, provide academic advising, and support student recruitment efforts. The position is a three-year, full-time, hybrid faculty credit/non-credit, 9-month, grant-funded role.
