Sanford Health to Integrate North Memorial Health with $600 Million Investment, Aiming to Enhance Minnesota Healthcare
Sanford Health, a major rural health system based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, has announced a definitive agreement to integrate North Memorial Health, located in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. This deal includes a significant $600 million investment from Sanford Health, which will see North Memorial become a subsidiary and serve as the anchor for Sanford's new Twin Cities care delivery region. The integration aims to stabilize North Memorial Health-Robbinsdale Hospital, a safety-net hospital, and expand North Memorial Health-Maple Grove Hospital, which is set to double in size. The agreement is pending regulatory approval and is expected to close by the end of the year. Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison has promised a thorough review of the proposed deal to ensure compliance with the law and public interest.
