Philadelphia Parking Garage Collapse Results in Worker Fatalities and Investigation
A partial collapse at a parking garage under construction at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia resulted in the deaths of three workers. The collapse occurred on April 8, 2026, affecting all seven levels of the structure. Initially, three workers were rescued and taken to hospitals, where one later died. The bodies of the remaining two workers were recovered after extensive search efforts. Mayor Cherelle Parker announced an investigation by the city's solicitor and law department to determine the cause of the collapse.
