Ukrainian Drone Strikes Severely Damage Russian Tuapse Oil Refinery
Ukrainian long-range drones have inflicted significant damage on the Tuapse oil refinery in Russia, located on the Black Sea. According to satellite imagery analyzed by the OSINT monitoring group Exilenova+, more than half of the refinery's fuel storage capacity has been destroyed or severely damaged. The attacks, which occurred throughout April, notably on April 16 and April 20, resulted in fires that engulfed around 10 storage tanks. The refinery, operated by Russia's state oil company Rosneft, is a technologically advanced facility with an annual processing capacity of up to 12 million tons. Despite the extensive damage to storage facilities, core refining units appear to have avoided direct hits. However, associated infrastructure such as pumping stations and pipeline systems was also affected.
