Democratic Congressional Nominee Mitchell Berman Linked to Ashley Madison and Adult Friend Finder Accounts
Mitchell Berman, the Democratic nominee for Wisconsin's First Congressional District, who is campaigning as a 'devoted husband,' has been linked to accounts on the affair-seeking website Ashley Madison and the casual hookup site Adult Friend Finder. Records from high-profile data breaches indicate that an email address used by Berman in a state elections commission complaint is associated with an Ashley Madison account that made two transactions around the time of his marriage in January 2015. Specifically, a $268 transaction occurred on February 24, 2015, and a $19 transaction on March 26, 2015. Berman's campaign confirmed that the accounts belonged to him, stating they were 'old accounts from well before his marriage that he had forgotten about, and cancelled.' The campaign clarified that Berman, a registered nurse, used online dating websites in his 20s and met his wife on eHarmony. The Adult Friend Finder account, associated with Berman's email, was last active in October 2016 when he was 30.
