Miracle League of Sioux City Kicks Off Season with Community Support
The Miracle League of Sioux City has commenced its season at Miracle League Park in Riverside, providing a unique opportunity for children with disabilities to participate in baseball. The event, held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., featured teams that included players from the local community, supported by volunteers from the Morningside dance and cheer teams and the Alta-Aurelia softball team. Liz Stevens, the director of the Miracle League of Sioux City, emphasized the importance of the event in offering these children a chance to engage in sports they might not otherwise experience. The community's involvement was evident, with families and local residents coming together to support the players and enjoy the festivities, which included root beer floats and a theme of 'root-root-root for the home team.'
