New 'Gator Task Force' Launched in Northwest Louisiana to Combat Violent Crime and Drug Trafficking
A new multi-agency task force, named the 'Gator Task Force,' has been established in northwest Louisiana to target violent crime and drug trafficking. This initiative brings together federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, U.S. Attorney’s Office, Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, Shreveport Police Department, and Louisiana State Police. The task force's primary goal is to pool resources, apprehend violent fugitives, and dismantle criminal gangs across the region. A central hub has been created to facilitate real-time information sharing among the participating agencies, a capability leaders noted they previously lacked. Governor Jeff Landry, R-Louisiana, emphasized the importance of community cooperation for the task force's sustained success, urging residents to report suspicious activities.
