Warehouse Employee Arrested for Arson Following Massive Fire in Ontario, California
A warehouse employee in Ontario, California, has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a massive fire erupted at the Kimberly-Clark warehouse. The fire was reported around 12:30 a.m. and required the efforts of over 100 firefighters to control the flames. The warehouse, which spans approximately 1.2 million square feet, was filled with paper products that fueled the fire. Despite the building's fire suppression system being operational, it was compromised when part of the roof collapsed. The fire destroyed several big rigs docked at the facility, but nearby businesses were protected from the flames. Initially, one person was reported missing but was later accounted for and identified as the suspect. Deputy Chief Mike Wedell stated that the fire was quickly deemed suspicious, leading to the arrest of the employee. No injuries were reported, but the smoke prompted warnings for sensitive groups to stay indoors.
