Luthra Brothers Detained in Thailand Following Deadly Goa Nightclub Fire
Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra, owners of the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in Goa, have been detained in Thailand following a devastating fire at their club that resulted in 25 fatalities. The fire, which occurred last Saturday, claimed the lives of 20 staff members and five tourists. The Luthra brothers fled to Thailand shortly after the incident, booking their flights while rescue operations were still underway. Indian authorities, in collaboration with Thai officials, have been tracking the brothers, leading to their detention outside the main city in Thailand. The legal process for their extradition to India is currently ongoing. Meanwhile, Ajay Gupta, a silent partner in the club, along with five managers and staff members, have been arrested by the Goa Police. The Luthra brothers have approached a Delhi court seeking interim relief, claiming they were in Thailand for a business meeting and not fleeing the law.
