LADWP Offers Rebates and Programs to Help Los Angeles Residents Conserve Water Amid Drought Conditions
The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) is actively assisting residents in conserving water through various programs and rebates, as California continues to experience drought conditions. These initiatives aim to reduce residential water usage and lower water bills. Key programs include the Residential SoCal Water $mart Water Rebate Program, which offers rebates for indoor and outdoor water-saving devices such as up to $200 for weather-based irrigation controllers and up to $500 for High-Efficiency Clothes Washers. Additionally, the Free Water Conservation Items program provides everyday items like showerheads, faucet aerators, and toilet leak detection tablets. LADWP also enforces a water conservation ordinance, currently in Phase 2, which restricts watering to three days a week during specific hours (avoiding 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Non-compliance can lead to fines starting at $100 after an initial warning.
