Dennis Prager Warns Against Socialism's Growing Favorability Among Democrats
Dennis Prager, a prominent thinker and speaker, has issued a warning regarding a recent CBS News/YouGov poll indicating that 58% of Democrats view socialism favorably, while only 32% favor capitalism. Prager, whose academic background includes the study of communism, discussed these findings with PragerU Executive Director Allen Estrin. He challenged the argument that 'socialism, much less democratic socialism, is not communism,' by providing historical context, noting that the Soviet Union was explicitly a socialist country aiming for communism. Prager highlighted the historical record of human suffering and death under socialist and communist regimes, citing an estimated 100 million deaths in the 20th century across countries like China, the USSR, Cambodia, and Vietnam. He emphasized that these regimes, including the Soviet Union, were socialist in nature, and that organizations like the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) understand this progression.
