East Coast Faces Dangerous Cold as Arctic Blast Affects Millions
Over 100 million people across the East Coast are on alert due to a significant arctic blast expected to bring dangerously low temperatures and wind chills. The cold front is causing wind chills to drop into the 20s in the Carolinas and into the negative single digits in Ohio and Michigan. Extreme Cold Warnings have been issued for much of the Northeast, including states like Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont. Wind gusts are expected to reach 30 to over 50 mph, leading to wind chills in the single digits and subzero levels in some areas. The coldest temperatures are anticipated on Sunday morning, with some regions experiencing wind chills as low as minus 10s to minus 30s. Frostbite is a significant risk, with exposure potentially causing harm in as little as 30 minutes.
