Rakuten Collaborates with German Startup Helsing to Test Military Drones for Japan
Rakuten Group, a prominent Japanese e-commerce and technology company, is partnering with German defense AI startup Helsing to introduce military drones to Japan. Rakuten served as the intermediary between Helsing and the Japanese government, facilitating field tests of Helsing's drones by the country's Ground Self-Defense Force, which are scheduled to continue through the end of September. This collaboration marks one of Helsing's initial ventures into the Asia-Pacific region.
