Maine Meteorologist Patrick Osborn Experiences On-Air 'Giggle Attack' During Weather Report
Maine meteorologist Patrick Osborn gained viral attention after an uncontrollable fit of laughter interrupted his live weather report on WABI. Osborn struggled to maintain composure for approximately a minute, gasping for breath and repeatedly apologizing between chuckles, eventually becoming incomprehensible. He stepped off-camera briefly before returning and handing off to a colleague. Osborn later explained that the 'giggle attack' was triggered by a prank he had attempted on fellow anchor Josh Gabbard, which unexpectedly backfired. During a commercial break, Osborn played a short Charlie Brown video for its sound effects, unaware it was an hour-long compilation that would periodically replay the sound. The audio played again as he began his weather segment, causing him to lose his composure. He described the 'Wa, wa, wa' sound as the catalyst for his hysterical laughter, noting that trying to suppress laughter in an inappropriate setting only made it worse.
