Galveston County Postal Worker Arrested in Mail Theft Investigation
A U.S. Postal Service worker, 46-year-old Richard Ybanez of Bacliff, was arrested in League City, Texas, following a joint mail theft investigation. The investigation was conducted by detectives from the League City Police Department's Special Investigations Unit and agents from the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General (USPS OIG). Ybanez was taken into custody on Thursday afternoon in the parking lot of a convenience store. He has been charged with mail theft involving 10 to 30 items, which is classified as a state jail felony. The investigation began approximately a week prior to the arrest after authorities received information regarding suspected mail theft involving Ybanez.
