Cool, Cloudy, and Drizzly Week Ahead for Southern California
Southern California is experiencing a period of cool, cloudy, and windy weather this week due to a low-pressure system moving south from the Pacific Northwest. According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Oxnard office, this system is bringing temperatures 5–15°F below average, with highs in the mid-60s to low 60s through Thursday. Inland areas, including mountains and deserts, could see temperatures drop 20–25°F below normal. A deep marine layer is forming, extending well beyond the coast and increasing the likelihood of morning drizzle and light rainfall. Northern California has already seen showers, with more storms expected throughout the week. However, this pattern is expected to shift by Friday, as the system moves out and a warming trend begins, lasting into early next week.
