American Airlines Flights Halted Nationwide Due to IT Outage
American Airlines experienced a systemwide IT outage that led to the grounding of flights across the United States. The outage affected the airline's technological infrastructure, including its mobile apps and customer service hotlines. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a ground stop for flights that had not yet taken off. Although the ground stop was lifted at most airports, flights in Charlotte remained affected. The airline has apologized for the inconvenience and is working to restore services.
