Cyberattack on Canvas Platform Disrupts College Final Exams
A cyberattack on the Canvas online platform has caused significant disruptions for colleges across the United States during the critical final exam period. The attack, claimed by the hacking group ShinyHunters, led to an outage that affected the platform's ability to manage exams, course notes, and grades. Instructure, the parent company of Canvas, reported that the platform was restored for most users by late Thursday. However, some institutions continue to restrict access as a precautionary measure. The breach reportedly involved student ID numbers, email addresses, and names, but not sensitive information like passwords or financial data.
