Former Employee Charged with Theft and Identity Fraud Over Unauthorized Credit Card Use
In Prince Frederick, Maryland, Kristeena Dawn Sheets, a former employee, is facing charges of theft and identity fraud. According to court documents, Sheets allegedly used a company credit card for unauthorized purchases totaling $446.78 at Amazon and McDonald’s. The employer, who had hired Sheets as an assistant to make business-related purchases, discovered the unauthorized transactions after being notified by Amazon. The employer immediately canceled the card and contacted Sheets, who initially denied the unauthorized use but later admitted to accidentally using the card for an Amazon purchase. Sheets claimed the unauthorized use amounted to $130 and promised to repay the amount within two weeks. However, the employer reported that no restitution had been made, leading to the filing of charges. Sheets is scheduled for a preliminary inquiry in Calvert County District Court on September 14, 2026.
