President Ruto to Attend UN General Assembly, Launch Diaspora Engagement Platform in U.S.
President William Ruto is scheduled to travel to the United States later this week to participate in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). During his visit, President Ruto plans to advocate for the appointment of several Kenyan nationals to specific United Nations positions. Additionally, he will launch the Kenya Diaspora Impact Platform (KDIP) in New York on September 20. This platform aims to enhance engagement with the Kenyan diaspora and encourage investment in Kenya. The engagement with Kenyans in the U.S. will take place at 30 Hudson Yards and is expected to cover government priorities, diaspora concerns, and collaboration opportunities. This visit follows a multi-city tour by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who also engaged with Kenyans in the U.S. regarding the 2027 presidential election and launched satellite diaspora offices.
