Montreal Police Seek Public Help in Locating Convicted Sex Offender Mario Charette
Montreal police are actively seeking the public's assistance in locating Mario Charette, a 65-year-old convicted sex offender who is illegally at large for the second time in three years. Charette, who has a history of 83 criminal convictions, including sexual assault and taking a person hostage, was last seen in Montreal. He violated the conditions of his release, prompting police to issue a notice for his capture. Charette was previously declared a long-term offender in 2014, a designation that was extended to 2029 after he was illegally at large for over a year. He has been sentenced to various terms for his crimes, including a recent two-year prison sentence for sexual assault. Charette is described as having grey hair, blue eyes, and several tattoos, and was last seen wearing a black hat, a black long-sleeved shirt, and dark pants.
