Toronto Introduces Colour-Coded Signage for Apartment Maintenance Ratings
The City of Toronto is set to implement a new system of colour-coded signage for apartment buildings starting June 15. This initiative, part of the RentSafeTO program, requires landlords to display green, yellow, or red signs indicating the maintenance status of their buildings. The system aims to inform tenants about the building's condition, with green representing satisfactory maintenance, yellow indicating a need for improvement, and red signaling significant issues. The program, backed by Councillor Josh Matlow, seeks to hold landlords accountable and improve living conditions for renters.
