Canada and Ukraine Sign Agreement for Domestic Production of Military Drones
Canada and Ukraine have entered into a partnership to manufacture Ukrainian military drones in North America. Announced at the CANSEC defence and security conference in Ottawa, the agreement involves collaboration between Ukrainian defence technology company Airlogix and Canadian manufacturer Sentinel. This venture aims to supply the Ukrainian armed forces with drones assembled in Canada. The Canadian defence minister, David McGuinty, highlighted the importance of this collaboration in delivering critical capabilities to Ukraine while supporting Canadian jobs and strengthening the country's industrial base. The primary products involved include Airlogix's GOR, an intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance unmanned air system, and Sentinel's Rekam, a multi-role fixed-wing UAS. The partnership reflects Canada's commitment to supporting Ukraine and expanding its domestic defence industry.
