IATA Announces 2027 AGM to be Held in Xiamen, China, Highlighting Global Aviation Developments
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has announced that its 2027 Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held in Xiamen, China, from May 30 to June 1. This decision was revealed during the current AGM in Rio de Janeiro, hosted by LATAM. The event in Xiamen will mark the third time the AGM is held in China, following previous meetings in Shanghai in 2002 and Beijing in 2012. IATA's director general, Willie Walsh, emphasized the opportunity for global aviation leaders to observe China's significant market developments. Walsh, who is stepping down to become CEO of IndiGo, highlighted the importance of the AGM in fostering industry collaboration on safety, efficiency, and sustainability. Additionally, Mehmet Tevfik Nane of Pegasus Airlines will succeed Roberto Alvo of LATAM as IATA Chair in June 2027.
