Jacksonville Transportation Authority Approves Interim CEO Amid Leadership Transition
The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) Board of Directors has unanimously approved Cleveland Ferguson III as its interim CEO. This appointment follows the formal announcement in July by Nat Ford, the current CEO, that he will be stepping down to take on the CEO position at the Dallas Area Rapid Transit system in Texas, with his departure from Jacksonville scheduled for October. Ferguson, a veteran of the JTA since 2015, has held several leadership roles, including Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for three years. JTA Board Chair Aundra Wallace highlighted Ferguson's experience and understanding of the organization as crucial during this transitional period, especially as the agency navigates an important budget cycle. Ferguson is expected to serve as interim CEO through the end of the year or into early 2027, depending on when a permanent replacement is selected.
