Attorney Ben Crump to Reveal Autopsy Findings in Nolan Wells Case at NAACP Convention
Attorney Ben Crump is set to announce the preliminary findings of an independent autopsy conducted on Nolan Wells, an 18-year-old who was found dead in the water near Horn Island. The announcement will take place at the 117th NAACP National Convention in Chicago. Nolan Wells was reported missing on the night of July 4 after failing to return from a boating trip with friends. His body was discovered on July 6. The cause and manner of his death have not yet been disclosed, and the results from the original autopsy by the Mississippi State Medical Examiner’s Office are still pending. Crump, who is representing the Wells family, has called for a full and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding Nolan's death. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the case, and once completed, it will be presented to a grand jury, which is standard procedure for suspicious deaths in the area.
