President Trump Sued Over Paid Access to Truth Social Posts
President Trump is facing a lawsuit filed by the Intercept and the Freedom of the Press Foundation, challenging the Truth API service offered by Trump Media & Technology Group. This service charges up to $100,000 a month for early access to posts on Truth Social, including those from President Trump. The lawsuit, filed in Manhattan federal court, argues that the service is corrupt as it allows the president to financially benefit from subscribers. The plaintiffs claim the service violates the First Amendment by restricting equal access to official announcements. Democratic Senators Elizabeth Warren and Adam Schiff have called for an investigation into whether the service undermines financial market integrity.
