Department of Defense Supports Workforce Development to Boost Manufacturing Careers
The Department of Defense (DOD) is backing a workforce development initiative aimed at enhancing manufacturing careers in the United States. The program, led by LIFT, a nonprofit public-private partnership, focuses on accelerating technology for the military and the defense industrial base. LIFT's Operation Next program provides rapid credentialing for individuals in high-demand jobs such as welding and robotics. This initiative, which began at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, is now open to military families, veterans, and civilians. The program aims to modernize manufacturing facilities and address workforce shortages by promoting careers in advanced manufacturing.
