HMS Prince of Wales and HMS Duncan Conclude Arctic Mission, Return to Portsmouth
The UK Carrier Strike Group, led by HMS Prince of Wales, has returned to Portsmouth after completing a three-month mission in the Arctic and North Atlantic. The mission, part of Operation Firecrest, involved exercises such as Neptune Strike, which demonstrated NATO's ability to integrate maritime, air, and land forces. The group, which included HMS Duncan and other allied ships, conducted air policing missions and participated in various NATO exercises to enhance regional security. The deployment aimed to reinforce NATO's presence and deterrence capabilities in strategically significant regions, particularly against potential threats from Russian aircraft.
