Millions of Americans participated in the America 250, Sail250 events, celebrating the 250th anniversary of American independence. The events, which began in New Orleans and concluded in Boston, featured the largest gathering of international tall ships and naval vessels in U.S. history. The U.S. Coast Guard played a crucial role in ensuring maritime safety and security during the two-month event, which saw over 60 military vessels and tall ships from 20 countries. Notable ships included the ELISSA, the Mayflower II, the USS Constitution, and the USCG Eagle, which served as a seagoing classroom for Coast Guard cadets.
