Kansas GOP Candidates Advance in State Board of Education Primary Races
In Kansas, the unofficial results of the GOP primary have positioned three Republican candidates closer to securing seats on the Kansas State Board of Education. Jim McMullen, Destry Brown, and Jean Clifford emerged victorious in their respective district races. McMullen, an attorney and former school board member, won in the eastern district, while Brown, a retired superintendent, and Clifford, a former board member, secured wins in the southeastern and western districts, respectively. The primary results set the stage for a Republican and Democrat face-off in the November general election for each of the five open seats. Notably, none of the current board incumbents sought reelection, potentially shifting the board's political balance.
