Fort Worth Redirects Funds from Silo Demolition to Neighborhood Projects
The city of Fort Worth has decided not to proceed with the demolition of century-old grain silos in the Worth Heights neighborhood due to budget constraints. Initially, the city had planned to demolish the silos if the property owner did not address the structures, with $850,000 allocated for the project. However, a funding gap of approximately $600,000 has made the demolition financially unfeasible. As a result, the city will redirect the funds to other neighborhood improvement projects, allowing for enhancements in local infrastructure and community services.
