Hilo School Reopens After $25 Million Renovation
Ha‘aheo Elementary School in Hilo has reopened after a three-year closure for a $25 million renovation. The project has doubled the facility size, adding new buildings, a cafeteria, library, computer lab, and classrooms. The school, originally opened in 1888, now features air conditioning and accessibility improvements. While some construction is ongoing, Principal Jennifer Sueoka expressed excitement about welcoming students back and the enhanced learning opportunities provided by the expanded space.
