New Thomas Jefferson Statue Installed in White House Rose Garden as Part of President Trump's Renovations
A new statue of Thomas Jefferson has been added to the White House Rose Garden, continuing President Trump's efforts to remodel the area. The statue, created by Colorado-based sculptor George Lundeen, depicts Jefferson sitting on a bench with a quill in hand, symbolizing his role in drafting the Declaration of Independence. Unlike other statues in the garden, which are on loan, this Jefferson statue is a gift. Currently, it faces the Truman Balcony with its back to the Oval Office, but it will be repositioned to face the Rose Garden and Oval Office once its permanent location is prepared. This addition is part of a broader initiative by President Trump to enhance the White House grounds with historical figures.
