This discussion comes after President Trump's recent decision to pause tariffs on beef imports, allowing up to 300,000 metric tons of beef into the U.S. tariff-free over three months. This move, aimed at lowering costs, has already faced criticism from the cattle industry and Republican lawmakers representing agricultural communities, who argue it could undermine domestic production.
