National Science Foundation Invests $90 Million in Three New Science and Technology Centers
The National Science Foundation (NSF) has announced a significant investment of $90 million over the next five years to establish three new Science and Technology Centers (STCs). These centers will focus on critical areas of scientific research and technological advancement. Michigan State University will lead TEMPEST, a center dedicated to studying turbulence across various scientific disciplines, including physics, fusion energy, and engineering. Northwestern University will head GENIE, which aims to deepen the understanding and engineering of the three-dimensional organization of DNA. The University of Texas at Austin will lead research into developing secure and effective co-adaptation between humans and service or assistive robots.
