Mamdani Pays Tribute to 9/11 Victims and Heroes During Interfaith Walk, Concluding at NYC Islamic Center

He specifically commemorated FDNY Chaplain Mychal Judge, the first recorded death on September 11, highlighting his selflessness. The Mayor also praised the chaplains, reverends, rabbis, and imams who guided the city through its recovery. This participation comes amidst calls for Mamdani to skip 9/11 ceremonies, with an online petition amassing over 111,000 signatures urging him to forgo the 25th-anniversary commemoration.
