U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Recalls Squishy Toys Due to Serious Injury Hazards
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall for popular squishy toys, specifically 'Squeezy Dumplings' from GIHNJSI and 'Rainbow Mystery Squishy Buns' from OKK Trading, due to serious injury hazards. These toys contain water beads that, if ingested, can expand inside a child's body, leading to choking, intestinal blockage, severe discomfort, and potentially death. Approximately 8,000 Squeezy Dumplings sold on Amazon in May and June, and over 7,200 Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun Toys sold at third-party stores from May through August, are affected. While no injuries have been reported from these specific recalled toys, the CPSC advises consumers to mark them as 'RECALLED' and dispose of them, then send pictures for a full refund. The CPSC also warned against 'Squishy Bun Toys' from Ivyapingdianpu, which violate safety standards, but the company has not agreed to a recall.
