Endorsement Reversal Shakes Up Massachusetts Senate Race
In a rare political move, three Watertown city councilors have withdrawn their endorsements of incumbent State Senator Will Brownsberger, opting instead to support his primary challenger, Daniel Lander. This shift comes just four weeks before the September 1 primary, providing Lander with a significant boost. The councilors, Theo Offei, John Gannon, and Anthony Palomba, cited various reasons for their decision, including a desire for bolder visions and concerns over transparency and labor issues. Lander, a former aide to Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, has gained momentum with high-profile endorsements, including from state Auditor Diana DiZoglio.
