Welder Dies at Kansas Construction Site, Electrocution Suspected
Law enforcement in Sedgwick County, Kansas, is investigating the death of 61-year-old Mark Scott, a welder, at a construction site in Wichita. Emergency services were dispatched to the 1400 Block of West Museum Boulevard after reports of an unresponsive man possibly trapped in a pipe. According to Wichita Police spokesman Kris Gupilan, first responders found Scott and transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. A second worker was also transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries. A preliminary investigation suggests that Scott, a subcontractor, was welding at the time of the incident, and electrocution is suspected as the cause of death. The final determination of the cause of death will be made by the medical examiner's office.
