Hensoldt and Indra Advance Eurofighter Radar Development
Hensoldt and Indra, in collaboration with Leonardo, are advancing the development of the European Common Radar System (ECRS) Mk.1 active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar for the Eurofighter aircraft. The radar is undergoing ground tests, showing promising results in robustness and performance. The next phase involves airborne trials on Eurofighters and an Airbus A320 equipped for radar experiments. The Mk.1 radar will be installed on new Tranche 4 Eurofighters for Germany and Spain, with plans to retrofit older models. Initial deliveries are expected by 2027, with the radar enhancing air-to-air and air-to-ground capabilities.
