Wyoming Freedom Caucus Experiences Significant Losses in Primary Elections, Losing House Majority and Senate Seats
The Wyoming Freedom Caucus faced substantial setbacks in the recent primary elections, losing most of its House seats and experiencing a decline in its presence within the Senate. After achieving majority control of the House for the first time in 2024, the caucus saw 13 incumbents defeated in the House, including former chairman Rep. John Bear and majority floor leader Rep. Scott Heiner. Additionally, nine other new Freedom Caucus-aligned candidates were unsuccessful in their primary races. In the Senate, six caucus-aligned lawmakers, including Sen. Bob Ide and Reps. Chip Neiman, Ken Pendergraft, Daniel Singh, Ben Hornok, and Paul Hoeft, lost their bids.
