Delta Air Lines Flight Evacuated After Emergency Landing Due to Fumes in Cockpit
A Delta Air Lines flight, designated as Flight 2204, was forced to make an emergency landing at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport shortly after takeoff due to reports of fumes in the cockpit. The flight, which was headed to Orlando, Florida, carried 199 passengers and six crew members. Upon landing, the passengers and crew evacuated the Boeing 757 using emergency slides on the taxiway. Delta has stated that safety is their top priority and apologized for the inconvenience caused to the passengers. The airline is currently investigating the cause of the fumes, and maintenance teams are inspecting the aircraft. No injuries were reported during the evacuation, and passengers were transported back to the terminal to be reaccommodated on another flight.
