Annabelle Doll, Subject of Paranormal Investigations, Now Part of Traveling Exhibit in Salem, Massachusetts
The original Raggedy Ann doll, known as Annabelle, which was central to paranormal investigations by Ed and Lorraine Warren, is currently on display at the temporary Haunted Warren Museum exhibit in Salem, Massachusetts. The doll gained notoriety after a story emerged around 1970, involving a nursing student named Donna who received the doll. Donna and her roommate, Angie, reported finding the doll in different positions and discovering notes with messages like “Help Us” and “Help Lou.” A medium consulted by the women claimed the doll was inhabited by the spirit of a 7-year-old girl named Annabelle Higgins. Later, a friend named Lou reported a nightmare involving the doll and woke with unexplained scratches. The Warrens were brought in, concluding that a demonic entity was impersonating a child's spirit.
