Nashville Man Struck and Killed by Train on Harpeth River Bridge
A man was fatally struck by a train while walking on a railroad bridge over the Harpeth River in Nashville, Tennessee. The incident occurred on Saturday, May 2, around 1:30 p.m. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the train conductor attempted to warn the man by blowing the horn, but the man continued to run across the bridge. He reportedly dropped an item, stopped to pick it up, and was subsequently hit by the train. The Nashville Fire Department later retrieved the man's body from the river. The man, who appeared to be in his 20s to 30s, has yet to be identified, and the investigation is ongoing.
