Apartment Fire Displaces 400 Residents in Wesley Chapel, Florida
Approximately 400 individuals have been displaced following a significant fire that engulfed a building at the Cobalt Apartments off Wesley Chapel Boulevard in Wesley Chapel, Florida. Pasco Fire Rescue Chief Ryan Guynn reported that the call came in shortly after 3 p.m., and fire crews are anticipated to remain on site for several days. While no injuries to residents have been reported, the four-story building is considered a total loss. Residents from the affected building and adjacent structures were safely evacuated, and firefighters successfully contained the blaze to the single structure. The Red Cross is providing assistance to the residents from the 90 impacted units. A number of pets were rescued, though it is possible some did not survive. The cause of the fire is currently undetermined, although severe weather was present in the area at the time.
