Kentucky Congressional Race Becomes Most Expensive in U.S. History Amid Trump Endorsement
The primary race for Kentucky's Fourth Congressional District, currently held by Rep. Thomas Massie, has become the most expensive House primary in U.S. history. Massie, a libertarian-leaning Republican, is seeking an eighth term but faces a strong challenge from Ed Gallrein, a Trump-endorsed GOP candidate. The race has seen over $32.6 million in political ad spending, with Gallrein spending nearly $11 million and Massie $7.6 million. President Trump has actively campaigned against Massie, criticizing him for opposing key parts of his agenda, including a $2 trillion COVID-19 stimulus package. The race is seen as a test of Trump's influence within the Republican Party, following his successful endorsement of Rep. Julia Letlow over Sen. Bill Cassidy in Louisiana.
