National Endowment for the Humanities Awards $4.1 Million Grant to Ohio State's Chase Center
The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) has awarded a $4.1 million grant to the Salmon P. Chase Center for Civics, Culture, and Society at The Ohio State University. This grant, announced on July 22, 2026, includes $4 million in matching funds and $100,000 in outright funds. It aims to establish endowed chairs and professorships at the center, which is focused on civics education. The Chase Center, which is in its second year, is experiencing rapid growth, with enrollment exceeding 440 students and the introduction of a new major in Civics, Law, and Leadership. The grant is part of a larger $41.4 million initiative by the NEH to support 81 humanities projects nationwide.
