Georgia Ranks as Easiest Country for Digital Nomads in Holafly Index
Georgia has been identified as the country with the lowest friction for digital nomads, according to the Holafly Digital Nomad Friction Index 2026. This index, compiled by eSIM company Holafly, evaluated 17 popular digital nomad destinations based on factors such as visa complexity, banking access, healthcare, connectivity, cost of living, and disruption risk. The study aims to assess not only the ease of entry for remote workers but also the convenience of maintaining daily life and work after arrival. Georgia's top ranking is attributed to its administratively straightforward processes, including no mandatory residence registration or tax identification requirements, and the ability to open a bank account with just a passport within hours. Other countries in the top five include Peru, South Africa, Thailand, and Malaysia, with Vietnam ranking sixth.
