Lakeland Trustees Face Calls for Resignation Amidst Allegations of Toxic Work Environment

This call comes after Superintendent Rusty Taylor was placed on leave, with the board opting to pay over $200,000 to fulfill his contract. The letter criticizes the board's actions, which have reportedly led to a toxic work environment, as described by former superintendent Lisa Arnold. Arnold, who retired early due to health concerns, cited a strained relationship with board chair Michelle Thompson, who she accused of undermining her and other staff members during public meetings. The board's decision to place Taylor on leave has sparked community outrage, with many calling for transparency and accountability.
